SHAVON GLOVER: PUTTING TOGETHER AN ‘AWESOME TEAM’
Initially, I wasn’t sure why I applied to the L.I.V.E. program. For the last ten years or so, I’ve been wrestling with my heart about starting a parent support group to help parents navigate the public school system and building communication skills with their children. However, when the opportunity to apply to the L.I.V.E. program arose, I was encouraged by my 11-year-old daughter to apply. She stated that I am good with parents and that if her brother was here, he and I would make an “awesome team” for parents. With that being said, among encouragement from others to LIVE again and not just be present, I decided to apply and 90 days later, I have the opportunity to help and support other parents on their journey of parenthood.
Converse, Healing, Empower & Fruition (C.H.E.F.) is a parent discussion group where parents/caregivers will be able to share best practices, hurts/hangups and genuine conversations about their parenting journey.
My home run is to create and launch my website and social media accounts, which will have a wealth of information and resources available.
